My name is Bucky Will and I am running for the HCA Board of Directors.  I live in Kansas City, Kansas and am retired. I was an Operating Room Nurse for 43 years.

I have been a member of HCA since the early 80’s. I have been a member of the Great Plains Heisey club since 2002 or so. My parents, Jean and John Will, were avid Heisey dealers and I helped them set up booths and sell glass. I have been serving on the HCA Auction Committee since spring of 2025.

I am interested in running for the BOD to help improve the functioning of the museum and to preserve the collection at the museum. I am a hard worker and hope to be able to make a contribution to the continued success of our museum.

I’m running for re-election to the Board of Directors of the Heisey Collectors of America, and I would be honored to continue serving this incredible organization for a second term.

Over the past few years, I’ve had the privilege of serving two terms as Treasurer, where I worked to ensure our finances are transparent, sustainable, and aligned with HCA’s long-term goals. I also led the brand redesign effort that gave our organization a refreshed visual identity—one that honors our past while positioning us for the future.

My focus has been on pushing the museum forward into the 21st century. That’s meant modernizing our systems and processes—from upgrading our phone and point-of-sale systems to helping streamline operations and improve the overall visitor experience. These are the kinds of behind-the-scenes improvements that help HCA grow stronger and better serve our members, collectors, and guests.

In my professional life, I work as the Digital Director at a national nonprofit think tank, where I manage complex digital platforms, support cross-organizational collaboration, and lead design and technology strategy. I bring that same experience and mindset to my work with HCA, always asking how we can be more innovative, inclusive, and impactful.

Heisey has been a meaningful part of my life, and I’m deeply committed to helping our organization thrive—not just as a museum, but as a community. Thank you for the opportunity to serve, and I hope to continue building on the momentum we’ve created together. I humbly ask for your vote.

I just want to introduce myself to new members who do not know me. I am running for my second consecutive term for the HCA board of directors.

If you have come to a Heisey auction or to the National convention, you may have seen me. Over the last six years I have helped with cataloging, transporting, and setting up glass for the auctions as well as volunteering during auctions. At the annual conventions, I have helped with setup and staging the Glass Show and Sale and with sales at the booth of my wife, Lisa, and her brother, John Martinez.

When I ran for my first term on the Board I felt, based on my 40 plus years of budget, finance, and administrative management experiences, I could help the business processes of the HCA and the museum. During my term, I implemented, at no cost, the Microsoft suite of services that provided upgrades to software and made available new tools for electronic meetings now being used by the Board, committees, and several Study Clubs. As Treasurer during my first two years, I also lead the effort to revise, based on Board direction, the policy on the management and usage of the endowment fund. The change in the policy has provided additional resources for the operation and maintenance of the museum without impacting on the stability of the endowment fund.

Going forward, one of the key elements for moving the museum to the status of an accredited museum, we need to update and strengthen our strategic plan. I would like to see this as a priority. I would appreciate your support and an opportunity to continue working on this and other issues as a member of the HCA Board.
