Whether you’re a beginner or an advanced collector, membership in an HCA study club gives you an opportunity to learn about Heisey glass and connect with people who share your interest in this beautiful glass. Study clubs do more than merely “study” Heisey glass. In addition to an educational program, most club meetings have a Show and Tell (or “Bring and Brag”) session where members can show off their newest acquisitions, to the accompaniment of “oohs” and “aahs” from the other members present. And don’t forget the fabulous food – served on Heisey, of course!
Study clubs play an important role in supporting HCA and the Heisey Glass Museum. Some clubs hold fundraisers such as raffles and silent auctions. Other clubs provide “people power” in the form of volunteers to support the museum’s many activities and initiatives. Study clubs have also added to the Heisey knowledge base by writing books on Heisey, such as the recent book on Heisey cordial glasses, compiled by the Dayton Area Heisey Collectors Club.
There are 12 study clubs located throughout the country, plus a virtual study club welcoming HCA members from around the country and the world. All members of HCA are eligible to join one or more study clubs. To join a study club, simply contact the person listed for the club you wish to join.
