The Heisey Collectors of America annual convention brings glass lovers from across the country to Newark, Ohio, in early June to conduct the club’s business, socialize with fellow glass collectors, and learn more about their favorite glass. Dealers bring their best Heisey wares to the annual Glass Show and Sale, which is the highlight of the convention. There are pieces in all price ranges to attract beginning collectors as well longtime collectors seeking rare or unusual items. In addition, bargains can be found at the Glass Flea Market, which gives everyone the opportunity to buy and sell glass in Newark’s outdoor Canal Market District. Convention activities vary from year to year, but always include seminars on Heisey glass and A.H. Heisey and Company, a table display competition, a banquet with a live fundraising auction of choice Heisey pieces, a social evening at the museum, and more.
