The 52nd Annual All‑Heisey Spring Benefit Auction was a wonderful success for HCA. This year’s event was held in two sessions. The first saw the return of the online only Spring Benefit Heisey Reproductions Auction held on April 12, 2026. This event offered 127 lots from 17 consignors and attracted 57 online bidders. The auction grossed $5,481.00 in glass sales and buyer’s premiums.
After expenses, the 2026 Spring Benefit Heisey Reproductions Auction is expected to net approximately $3,000.
The second session was held both online and in person, with the in‑person portion returning to the GMP Local #244 Union Hall on Friday and Saturday, April 17–18, 2026. Attendance was strong, with 43 in‑person registrants and 88 online registrants. Over the course of the two‑day auction, we offered 837 lots of glass from 26 consignors.
Financially, the auction performed well. Total sales, including buyer’s premium, reached $25,783.00. After consignor payments and expenses, we expect to net approximately $7,000. The average price per lot was $30.07, compared to last year’s average of $39.93.
On behalf of the HCA Board of Directors and Staff, I extend heartfelt thanks to all the volunteers who worked tirelessly—beginning in January 2026—unpacking, identifying, photographing, cataloging, and repacking glass, and then dedicating four straight days to ensure the auction ran smoothly. Your commitment makes this event one of HCA’s largest and most successful fundraisers.
Special appreciation goes to Walter Ludwig for generously sharing his time and Heisey expertise; to Jennifer Miler and the Museum staff for coordinating activities in Newark; to Jesse Harmon for setting up and testing the AV equipment; and to the Auction Committee members—Lisa Baldus, Bucky Will, Bari Fauss, Caleb‑Michael Files, Eric Tankesley‑Clarke, Jay Goletz, and Karen Taylo—for their hard work and dedication.
A big thank‑you also goes to our auctioneer, Craig Connelly, and his team, Kevin Burchett and Jeff Baird, who not only sold the glass but kept the crowd entertained throughout. We are also grateful to GMP Local #244’s own Jimmy Gill for ensuring the hall was in excellent condition for the event.
Finally, thank you to all the consignors who entrusted their glass to HCA, and to every in‑person and online bidder who helped make this auction a success.
We look forward to seeing you at the Dave Spahr Fall Select Auction in October.
